Girl Scouts honor community role models

PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle will honor the top 20 nominees for their Women of Distinction award at the 2013 Women of Distinction Awards Gala at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort.

PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle will honor the top 20 nominees for their Women of Distinction award at the 2013 Women of Distinction Awards Gala at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort.
The nominees were announced at a luncheon on July 26th; they are being considered for the award based on their demonstrations of commitment to the community in one of these several categories: arts, business, education, fitness, health, law, government, media, religion, social services, and science and engineering.
“Providing opportunities for girls to rise to positions of leadership and service in their community continues to be an important part of Girl Scouting,” said Raslean M. Allen, CEO of the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle, Inc., in a press release. “The women nominated this year are excellent role models for our Girl Scouts.”

The 2013 Women of Distinction finalists are:
